Bong Joon Ho is now riding at an all-time high with Parasite winning the Oscar for Best Picture, but it looks like he isn’t done with the story. News has it that Bong is actually teaming up with HBO for a Parasite miniseries, and it looks like they already have someone in mind to star.

As per Collider, the series is currently eyeing Marvel star Mark Ruffalo (Avengers: Endgame) to star in the show. We don’t know what part he’s set to play yet, but by the looks of it, he may be up for a lead role. For now, it looks like nothing is set in stone, but we do know that Ruffalo is being considered for a part.

While the movie itself is already solid, Bong has said that there were more story elements that he would have loved to add that couldn’t fit in a two-hour film. He says:

“I had all these key ideas accumulated from when I started writing the script. I just couldn’t include all those ideas in the two-hour running time of the film, so they’re all stored in my iPad and my goal with this limited series is to create a six-hour-long film.”

With the movie winning an Oscar and everything, I don’t think it would be wise to suddenly backtrack and add more to the film, but if Bong himself wants to pursue the project, then maybe he has something interesting in mind. Could it be an expansion to the story?A Sequel? Let’s hope it isn’t an English-speaking remake.

No release date has been set for HBO’s Parasite series.
