Bam Margera Appearing in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Remake After All

With his recent firing from Jackass and several online scandals, it was understandable why Bam Margera would be removed from the remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4; but as it turns out, Tony Hawk himself wasn’t going to have it.

According to The Nine Club podcast (via VGC), it’s been revealed that Margera was going to be appearing in the game after all. The show’s co-host Roger Bagley explained:

“Well, here’s what happened… The game was already done. Tony called up Activision and was like ‘hey, we’re putting Bam in the thing’, and they were like ‘hey, we can’t’.

“He goes ‘no, you’re gonna do it’, and basically made them fly Bam back out there to get body-scanned and everything else, and get him back in the game.”

Margera and Hawk had been friends for a while via their pro skater status, and Margera had been a regular fixture in the games since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. Though he had only been a side character for most of it, his Jackass and Viva La Bam fame had led to him being one of the co-leads for Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 with the World Destruction Tour campaign.

Though Margera had seen quite the fall ever since he was fired from Jackass Forever, it does seem like he’s been cleaning himself up lately, and he’s also been sharing some videos with Hawk of him skateboarding again.

Margera’s glory days may be over, but it’s nice that Hawk can still help out a friend who is on his way to recovery.

Watch out for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 when it launches for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4|5 on July 11.
