Jonathan Majors ‘Loves’ Marvel and is Open to Coming Back to Reprise Kang

Jonathan Majors was about to be the next big villain of the MCU, but his time as Kang the Conqueror was cut short when Marvel decided to fire him after the scandal with his ex.

With Majors’ rep seemingly going back up though, rumors have been going around that Marvel is willing to bring Majors back to finish off his Kang character, and Majors himself seems to be open to the idea. Talking to Variety, he said:

“I just appreciate [Marvel head Kevin Feige]. I just love him. I loved my time at Marvel, and I still love Kang. I’m watching them. I see what they’re doing and I’m pulling for them. If they need me, they know where I’m at.”

Though Kang was originally supposed to be the main villain in the next Avengers movie, Marvel had decided to scrap that idea to have the main focus be on Dr. Doom, who is played by a returning Robert Downey Jr.

Now rumors are going around that Marvel wants to wrap up Kang’s story properly with Majors, but it will likely end up with the Council of Kangs getting killed off by Doom to establish how much of a threat Doom is going to be.

As someone who was all-in on the Kang Dynasty announcement, I was honestly disappointed that Marvel didn’t just decide to recast Majors. But with these rumors flying around, I just hope they cap off the character properly after all these years of build-up ultimately led to nothing.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to come out May 1, 2026. Magazine Dreams starring Jonathan Majors comes out in theaters on March 21.
