Though the science-fiction genre may almost always lean into the action side of things, sometimes it makes for some interesting romance movies; with films like Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind and Her. Now Apple TV+ has shared their first trailer for an interesting world where a couple’s compatibility can be scientifically quantified.

The official description reads:
Anna (Jessie Buckley) and Ryan (Jeremy Allen White) have found true love. It’s been proven by a controversial new technology. There’s just one problem: Anna still isn’t sure. Then she takes a position at a love testing institute, and meets Amir (Riz Ahmed).
Jessie Buckley, Riz Ahmed, and Jeremy Allen White are three of the most critically acclaimed actors of their time, with works like The Lost Daughter, Sound of Metal, and The Bear, and it’s going to be interesting to see just how the three will manage to navigate this sci-fi love triangle.
Of course, we also shouldn’t forget about Luke Wilson who manages to make every one of his characters a loveable guy. We don’t exactly know where the story goes, but I am curious to see just how deep they’re going to dig into this concept of quantifiable compatibility. Will it blow Astrology out of the water? How will it affect dating in the future? Will couples’ therapists still be relevant?
