Amazon’s Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power may have lost one major actor with Joseph Mawle (Adar), but the series losing one Game of Thrones actor has resulted in the casting of another familiar face from Westeros.
As per an official announcement, Ciaran Hinds has joined the cast of Rings of Power. Check this out:

No details have been revealed about who Hinds is playing, but at age 70, I think he could be too old to be playing an immortal elf. My guess is he could be playing a man from Middle-earth or maybe someone from Numenor.
I’m actually hoping that Hinds has been cast as a wizard, but I think he could be too old for the part. Even Christopher Lee needed a stunt double to do all the magic battles for Saruman. Plus, during this timeline, it seems that the Ishtari are still going to be relatively young, with Daniel Weyman being cast as a wizard in his 40s.
Looking at Hinds’ career, he does have the ability to hold a very commanding presence, whether it be as the ruler of Rome Julius Caesar, or the leader of the Wildlings Mance Rayder. With Rings of Power playing the long game when it comes to revealing significant characters, I’m hoping they cast Hinds in a very juicy role.
For now, the second season of Rings of Power is still in production, but you can catch the complete first season now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
