Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr are Parents Hiding a Terrible Secret in Cobweb Trailer

Barbarian was probably one of the most celebrated horror films to come out last year, and now the producers are ready to release their next film Cobweb starring Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex) and Antony Starr (The Boys).

Watch the trailer for Cobweb here:

Here’s the official description of the film:

Eight-year-old Peter is plagued by a mysterious, constant tap, tap from inside his bedroom wall – a tapping that his parents insist is all in his imagination. As Peter’s fear intensifies, he believes that his parents (Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr) could be hiding a terrible, dangerous secret and questions their trust. And for a child, what could be more frightening than that?

Though the trailer does hint at the parents being the big terrorizers in the film, the casting does seem to keep you on your toes when it comes to the story. Starr is no doubt terrifying thanks to his rep playing sociopath Superman in The Boys, but Lizzy Caplan has eased in on the image of a comforting mother figure, and it’s kind of hard to think her character is into anything devious.

That being said, the casting is definitely interesting, and I’m excited to jump into this new film that could be a commentary on terrible parents—or not, we’ll just have to wait and see for the film to release. Hopefully it doesn’t get drowned out by the hype behind Barbie and Oppenheimer.

Catch Cobweb when it releases in theaters o July 21.
