DC’s Titans series may have come and gone, but with James Gunn’s new DCU, we’re expecting to get a new iteration of the characters.
According to THR, a live-action Teen Titans movie is already in the works, and it’s being written by Ana Nogueira, the same screenwriter behind Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. No further details have been revealed about the film, but a lot of fans are expecting the roster to include longtime favorites like Robin/Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, and Cyborg.
I personally wouldn’t be surprised if they also brought in younger heroes from the DC franchise including the Robin that’s expected to be in Batman: The Brave and the Bold and the Supergirl played by Millie Alcock who is going to make her live-action debut in James Gunn’s Superman.
Though there have been several iterations of the Teen Titans over the years; no doubt the version that kick-started their popularity in modern culture comes was the series that launched in 2003. The same version of those characters became the basis for the still ongoing Teen Titans Go!, but that one is more apparent in being geared toward younger kids.
For now, it’s unclear what the approach for the new Teen Titans is going to be, but I do hope that they manage to keep them as kids for a while before they start getting older and joining the Justice League.
No release date has been set for the Teen Titans movie.
