Lili Reinhart may get into some darkly intricate plotlines in Riverdale, but she’s set to have a lighter story with Netflix’s upcoming film Look Both Ways.
Just in, we have a new trailer, and it follows the story of a woman and the differences her life could turn out to be based on one decision. Watch this:
Here’s the story description for Look Both Ways:
Lili Reinhart stars as Natalie, a young woman whose life diverges into two different paths on the night of her college graduation. In one life, she becomes pregnant and must navigate motherhood as a young adult in her hometown and in the other she moves to LA to pursue her career. In both journeys, Natalie experiences life-changing love, pursues her dream career as an artist, and rediscovers herself.
I’ll admit, the main premise of the film feels kind of plain, but I’m sure there are some audience members who have found themselves asking “What If?” based on one decision that would change the course of their lives.
The dilemma is pretty relatable, and the series does have some kind of ‘wish fulfillment’ element to the story. While I think I can guess how each timeline is going to go down, I’m interested to see how the stories will actually relate to each other—and how will the movie eventually end. Will we come back to the moment before the big change? Or will we have some kind of sci-fi twist where both characters are set-up to change places in a Freaky Friday-esque sequel?
Now that’s a story I wouldn’t mind coming back to.
Catch Look Both Ways when it premieres on Netflix on Aug. 17.
