The original Cyberpunk 2077 game had players going up against big corporations like Arasaka, but now the upcoming DLC Phantom Liberty will be bringing the government into Night City.
To celebrate the launch of the well-reviewed expansion, we have a new launch trailer for the DLC to give us a good look at the game and the new district of Dogtown. Check this out:
The official description reads:
#PhantomLiberty is an upcoming spy-thriller expansion for #Cyberpunk2077. Return as cyber-enhanced mercenary V and embark on a high-stakes mission of espionage and intrigue to save the NUSA President. In the dangerous district of Dogtown, you must forge alliances within a web of shattered loyalties and sinister political machinations. Do you have what it takes to survive?
Last week the game had also released a cinematic trailer which explains why the NUSA president found herself in Night City. It also kind of explains a little about the origin of Idris Elba’s character, who could be another virtual presence like the original game’s Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves).
So far, reviews have been sparkling for the expansion, and though the original had been a notoriously disastrous launch, more and more players are finding themselves getting lost in the labyrinth of futuristic anarchists that is Night City. Hopefully Phantom Liberty cements the title as another solid entry from CD Projekt Red besides The Witcher franchise.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is now available for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
