We don’t know if we’re ever getting another Suicide Squad movie, but Harley Quinn and company are going the anime route with the upcoming Suicide Squad ISEKAI. The series is expected to debut sometime next year, and we have a new trailer giving us a look at Harley, Joker, King Shark, Peacemaker, Deadshot, and Clayface.

For those who don’t know, “ISEKAI” is an anime genre where a character from the modern world is thrust into a fantasy one where they have to battle monsters and all kinds of magical things. The most prominent examples of ISEKAI are properties like Re: Zero, Mushoku Tensei, and KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!.
The animation will be coming from Wit Studio, who has delivered titles like Attack on Titan, Ranking of Kings, and Spy x Family. Warner Bros. Japan is also attached to the project as producer.

We don’t know exactly what the story for Suicide Squad ISEKAI is going to be, but seeing the trailer and knowing the genre of the Suicide Squad, it’s very likely that it’s going to be more violent than what most ISEKAI fans are used to. Though the trailer is also in Japanese, I’m pretty sure that DC will be looking for an English dub to better sell the property in the West.
No official release date has been announced for Suicide Squad ISEKAI, but watch out for the series when it premieres sometime in 2024.
