Nicole Kidman had just recently been paired up with a younger leading man with Netflix’s A Family Affair, but now she’s going even younger with Harris Dickinson in the first trailer for Babygirl from A24.
The film is set to come out this Christmas, and we have a new trailer. Check this out:
Here’s the short synopsis for the story:
A high-powered CEO puts her career and family on the line when she begins a torrid affair with her much-younger intern.
Besides Kidman and Dickinson, the cast also includes Antonio Banderas, Sophie Wilde, and Esther McGregor. The movie also comes from Halina Reijin, who had recently turned heads back in 2022 with her movie Bodies Bodies Bodies. While Babygirl doesn’t seem to have the same kind of comedic flair that Bodies brought to the table, it still has all the signature artsy vibes and sounds that fans can expect from a studio like A24.
Going back to the premise though, the movie does look very delightfully messy, and should be some kind of commentary on taboo relationships—not just ones with huge age gaps, but also ones that are between employees and higher-ups in their workplace.
I guess the twist here is that Kidman’s character is the boss, yet she’s the one who is being dominated by the younger intern. It does sound a bit silly, but this is a movie, and it’s very likely that this is going to be a certain kink for a lot of people in the audience.
Besides, Kidman’s still got it, and Dickinson should be so lucky to share the screen with such a legend.
