While Disney’s big Star Wars release for the year is The Book of Boba Fett, a lot of fans are waiting for the return of Ewan McGregor in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. A sizzle reel had leaked early and has been taken down by Disney, but fans were able to snag some screenshots.
These come via Cinelinx’s Jordan Maison:

Besides getting to see more of Vader’s quarters, we also have a shot of the Second Sister (Trilla) from Fallen Order being followed by some stormtroopers. We don’t know how huge their role will be in the show, but since this is concept art, it’s still possible that some things could be changed, depending on how production goes.
Other concept art shows Obi-Wan riding what looks to be an Eopie, and we also have a shot of Imperial troopers possibly walking around the reclaimed Jedi Temple.

While I still want this series to be a film, director Deborah Chow has mentioned before how a series format will be able to let her delve a lot deeper into the characters. Though The Mandalorian gets a lot of praise, I think it does very unsatisfying character work for each episode. Hopefully Chow’s TV experience with shows like Better Call Saul will give some more depth to Kenobi (and Vader, for that matter).
No release date has been set for Obi-Wan Kenobi, but the series is expected to hit Disney+ sometime early 2022. The Book of Boba Fett comes out on Dec. 29.
