We know that Margot Robbie is going to be the star of Barbie, but the movie is also going to be bringing in Ryan Gosling to play her clueless Number 2, Ken. While it does seem that Ken is going to be a happy-go-lucky character in the film, this latest look at the Barbie movie gives us an idea of what kind of story arc he’s expecting.

So far, trailers for Barbie have shown us Ken trying to impress Barbie and claiming that he’s her boyfriend, but so far, Robbie’s Barbie seems to be more concerned as to why she’s undergoing a kind of existential crisis.
With this musical number though, we get an idea that Ken actually wants to be his own character without being an accessory to Barbie. I’m even getting hints that he might actually end up being the villain of the film, but I guess that role already belongs to Will Ferrell, who is allegedly playing the CEO of Mattel and wants to get Barbie back in Barbie Land.
We know Ryan Gosling is best known for his dramatic roles, but a lot of fans are excited to see him fully embrace comedy with Barbie. At least this will hold until we get that Nice Guys sequel.
