Jonathan Majors has been a steadily rising star with Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but he’s recently caught a snag when he was arrested in New York following an alleged assault on a woman.
According to Variety, Majors was arrested last Saturday and charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment in what the NYPD called a ‘domestic dispute.’ While the internet is currently abuzz with Majors becoming Marvel’s Ezra Miller, his defense lawyer Priya Chaudhry has confirmed there is evidence that will prove Majors’ innocence.
She says:
“We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently…
“All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is entirely innocent and did not assault her whatsoever… Unfortunately, this incident came about because this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital yesterday. The NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and this is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We expect these charges to be dropped soon.”
For now, fans are currently speculating online on what really went down with Majors and the victim, who was said to be Majors’ girlfriend. If anything, this is certainly the wrong time for this kind of scandal in Majors’ career; especially with him being set up to Marvel’s next Thanos.
Hopefully this all gets cleared up soon. After all, Marvel is also juggling another issue with their recently fired executive who was said to have been fired for the wrong reasons.
