Arthur Fleck may have faced his spiral into insanity alone in the first Joker, but he’s going to have someone be crazy with him in the upcoming sequel Joker: Folie a Deux. The movie has just wrapped production, and director Todd Phillips has shared new photos of the leads Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) and Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga).

On While it looks like the Joker is going to be keeping his look from the first movie, everyone has their eyes on Gaga’s version of Harley Quinn. If anything it doesn’t feel like they want to make her look as loud as possible like with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. For this timeline’s Harley, she keeps a very simple look, with her hair just looking a little disheveled, white makeup, lipstick, and diamonds on her eyes.
Some set photos have revealed a bright red outfit, and I have a feeling that could be under the jacket that she’s wearing in the photo.
We don’t know this Harley’s story yet, but rumors suggest that her origin could be altered in the film. With Robbie’s Harley keeping the psychiatrist-turned-psycho story, it’s been said that this Harley is going to be a fellow patient in Arkham. With Joker and Harley’s relationship notoriously toxic, I’m wondering if they could alter the story so that they are actually a functional (albeit villainous) couple.
Then again, any seasoned comic fan knows that Joker’s true love is Batman.
