Dakota Johnson is currently tearing it up with Madame Web being the number one movie on Netflix ever since it was put on the platform, but she has an incoming film on Max with an interesting premise.

Here’s the synopsis as per THR:
Am I OK? centers on lifelong friends Lucy (Dakota Johnson) and Jane (Sonoya Mizuno) navigating the changes in their paths after Jane plans a move to London, leading Lucy to reveal a secret about herself.
The movie had actually premiered at the Sundance Film Festival back in 2022, and is only now getting the wide release. Besides Johnson and Mizuno, the cast also includes Jermaine Fowler, Kiersey Clemons, Molly Gordon, and June Diane Raphael. Notaro herself is also a member of the cast.
Though Johnson may be best known for her work on Fifty Shades of Gray, some can forget that she actually has fantastic comedic chops; that’s why the promotion for Madame Web was able to get a lot of hype even before the movie released.
Going back to Notaro, she is known to be a great comic, and I’m very interested to see how her directorial debut is going to turn out. She’s directed for TV and other stand-ups before, but with Am I OK? it certainly feels like a passion project between Notaro and Allyne.
Am I OK? is set to launch on Max on June 6.
