Joe Russo Willing to Helm the Community Movie if it Ever Happens

The Russo Brothers are best known now for their work on the Avengers films, but before that, they were working on the critically beloved show Community. With Community getting renewed interest thanks to Netflix, the possibility of a movie is looking more and more bright, and Joe Russo has come to comment.

Talking to Collider, Russo explained when asked if him and his brother Anthony would be willing to helm the film:

“We’d certainly be willing to do it. I mean, we love our Community family. That cast, we’re all still very close to all of them. It’s certainly schedule-dependent for us, but I believe there will be a Community movie, especially now that it’s doing so well in streaming that somebody like Netflix could step-up and make that movie.”

With Hollywood at a major halt right now, we don’t expect things to ‘move’ until the lockdown ends, but hopefully the Russos will have time to come back to the film, especially now that they don’t have any ‘big’ Marvel projects in development.

Besides the Russos, I think it’s definitely essential that Dan Harmon should also help develop the film. I mean, he’s the creator of the show. With the Russos at the helm and Harmon in charge of writing, I’m sure we’re going to get a film that everyone has been waiting for.

I wonder if they’ll be able to nab Donald Glover this time. I wouldn’t even be disappointed if they found a way to include Chevy Chase again.

We don’t know when a Community movie could come out, but you can catch all six seasons now on Netflix.
