Very few video game adaptations manage to break the mould, but Netflix’s Arcane series based on League of Legends managed to captivate audiences and bring a whole new fanbase to the game.
Now the award-winning series is set to come back for its second and final season, and it teases an all-out war between Piltover and Zaun. Check this out:
Though the two main factions of the series have always been Piltover and Zaun, it does look like Noxus, the region from which Mel’s mother Ambessa comes from, is going to be joining the fray.
In the first season, Ambessa had been urging Mel to start the war with the undercity, to which Mel refused. Though she and the council of Piltover was about to give independence to Zaun, they were suddenly attacked by Jinx in the finale, prompting the inevitable war that will be taking place in Season 2.
Admittedly, there are some fans that are disappointed that the final season of Arcane will end here, but it has been hinted that this series is only going to end the arc that will include Jinx and Vi at the heart of the conflict. With the massive lore that’s been established for League of Legends, plus the wealth of characters, we should expect another LoL-based show down the line which will follow a new set of characters from the roster.
I’m just hoping they keep to the same art-style to keep the series just a little uniform.
Arcane Season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix this coming November.
