House of the Dragon: Don’t Expect Cregan Stark to Show Up Again for the Rest of the Season

The premiere for the second season of House of the Dragon had opened up in a familiar location for fans—The Wall in the North, and we got to meet the head of House Stark, Cregan played by Tom Taylor. While Cregan Stark does play a vital role in the impending “Dance of Dragons” we shouldn’t expect him to stick around for too long when it comes to this season of HOTD.

As confirmed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, co-creator Ryan Condal knows everyone is expecting big things from the character, but not this season. He explains:

 “Anybody that reads the books knows that he does play a role in the larger Dance of the Dragons. I would love to have Tom [Taylor] back. We really enjoyed working with him, but I think we need to play the story out a bit and see where it takes us.”

Taylor himself also shared, “I was just itching to do more, as well… I was in the costume. I was like, ‘I just want to keep acting.’ But, yeah, it’s just a little tease for now.”

Cregan’s story is pretty much played out in Fire & Blood, so it’s pretty easy to spoil yourself on what his fate is going to be in the show. That being said, House of the Dragon does have a tendency to change the story for what works better dramatically, and even the book readers can sometimes find themselves caught off guard.

For now, we should expect Cregan to have a larger role in the next season (whenever that comes out), but for now, it looks like he’
