The Boys had just ended a fantastic fourth season run with a huge cliffhanger, and while we might have to wait two years before we get the final season, Amazon has already released an asset for the finale.

The finale of Season 4 had Homelander installing his puppet president in the White House, and a Martial Law was immediately declared with supes being officially sponsored by the government. What’s worse is, almost all the members of the Boys have been apprehended; with the only one being able to escape being Annie thanks to her returning Starlight powers.
The only deterrent they have against HL now is Butcher, who seems to have been overtaken by the Kessler persona. It’s not clear where Butcher is going now, but he has a sample of the virus with the intention to take out Homelander—regardless if he starts a supe genocide or not.
We don’t know if there’s any room for Butcher to actually survive the end of the finale, but it does look like there’s going to be mutually assured destruction between him and Homelander. It’s unclear if he’ll be able to save Ryan, but it does look like Ryan is pretty much split between two terrible choices—staying with Homelander who could potentially hurt him, or staying with the government, who would definitely hurt him in their process of training him to kill his own father.
It’s all starting to look like scorched Earth from the fans’ perspective, which is what you want out of a final season. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long.
The finale season of The Boys is expected to come out sometime in 2026.
