While WB is still sorting out what they’ll do with Superman, Henry Cavill is keeping himself busy, jumping on over to Netflix to star in The Witcher. Thanks to SDCC 2019, we have a full trailer for the show, and everything from Cavill to the production value looks phenomenal.

The worst monsters are the ones we create.
While a lot of people are expecting this to be an adaptation of the CD Projekt Red game, the Netflix series is more closely based to the original Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski. No doubt they still kept some of the aesthetics from the game, seeing that it’s the more popular of the Witcher properties. But who knows, if this show takes off, maybe Cavill will be the more recognized version of Geralt of Rivia.
With Game of Thrones ending, fans will now be looking for another adult fantasy series, which I think is the hole that Witcher is trying to fill. We have grandiose battle sequences and massive monsters, and Geralt looks like an absolute beast.
I’m just hoping that the show has just more than Cavill in the spotlight. God knows the reason Game of Thrones thrived was because of the fantastic supporting characters. Let’s hope that The Witcher has a good abundance of them.
Netflix’s The Witcher is set to come out this November.
