A He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie has been having a hard time getting off the ground, but now the film is cast and Nicholas Galitzine is set to play Prince Adam. While we have no official trailer yet, Amazon MGM Studios has teased our first look at He-Man’s Power Sword.

Besides Galitzine, the movie also features the likes of Camila Mendes (Teela), Idris Elba (Man-at-Arms), Morena Baccarin (The Sorceress), and Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn). Playing He-Man’s nemesis and the biggest bad of all Eternia is Jared Leto as Skeletor.
While there have been successful revivals of retro IP like Sonic the Hedgehog, a lot of people are curious about how something like MOTU is going to fair. Sure, it was originally created for kids to enjoy, but the only fans of MOTU now are adults who grew up watching the cartoons and collected the toys.
That being said, I did love the revivals of the original He-Man canon on Netflix, and maybe this could be a good rejuvenating of the character when it comes to the big screen. Let’s just hope that movie-going audiences would be willing to see this revival of an old 80s fantasy/sci-fi IP that was made to sell toys.
