We had just gotten a new teaser for Obi-Wan Kenobi yesterday, but fans were asking, “Where is Hayden Christensen’s Vader?” As it turns out, they were waiting for a reveal the next day.
Entertainment Weekly has given us a new look at Vader in the upcoming series, and it’s allegedly Hayden Christensen inside the suit:
While Christensen can’t tell us anything about the series (“I wish I could tell you,” he tells EW), show writer Joby Harold does say about Vader, “His shadow is cast across so much of what we do… And the degree of his proximity to that shadow is something that we’ll discover. But he is very much a part of the show emotionally for Obi-Wan, and possibly beyond that as well.”
This will be the first time that we have Christensen in the Vader suit since Revenge of the Sith. Though we did get to see the character in action in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Lucasfilm had brought on Spencer Wilding to play the role.
With Hayden Christensen back though, a lot of fans are hoping for some flashbacks to the Clone Wars era where we get to see Obi-Wan and Anakin at the height of their friendship. Personally, I just want to see Christensen outside the suit, as a deformed Vader meditating in his chambers. Maybe we can even have a scene where he visits Padme’s grave in Naboo? Pretty please, Deborah Chow?
Vader and Obi-Wan return when Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+ on May 25.
