Has Marvel Studios Found its New Kang?

Ever since Jonathan Majors was fired as Kang the Conqueror, a lot of fans have been worried about how Marvel is going to approach the character. Are they going to replace Majors as the actor, or write Kang out entirely?

Just in, insider Daniel RPK (via BamSmackPow) has reported that Marvel has already found their replacement for Kang. We have no hint as to who it could be, but some are speculating that the announcement could come during Marvel’s panel at SDCC 2024.

So far, rumors have said that the top choices for Kang have included the likes of Colman Domingo, John David Washington, and John Boyega. If you ask me, if Marvel wants Kang to be the same actor playing multiple versions of a character, they should pick someone who can already do a myriad of voices—like SNL’s Jay Pharoah.

With them making the mistake of putting all their eggs in one Jonathan Majors basket, maybe Marvel can just have multiple different actors play Kang at the same time. They already explored this idea with multiple kinds of Lokis in the Loki series. Imagine how much they can save on post-production as well by just having multiple guys.

So far, no official announcement has been made for a Kang recast; so take the news with a grain of salt. If anything, I would prefer a recast, because after all the hype for Kang to be the next threat after Thanos, it would be a shame to just revert to a character like Doctor Doom all of a sudden.

Kang’s next appearance in the MCU has not been announced.
