Harrison Ford’s President Ross Allegedly a Major Antagonist of Captain America 4

William Hurt may be gone, but it looks like his character Thunderbolt Ross is going to have a major role in the MCU moving forward.

Rumor has just come out from insider Daniel RPK (via @TheMarvelFocus) that Ross—now played by Harrison Ford—will be the president of the United States in Captain America: New World Order, and he will be one of the major antagonists of the film.

The movie will apparently have something to do with the aborted Celestial Tiamut from Eternals; where superpowers from all over the world will fight for the possession of the island for its Adamantium—the very same indestructible metal that Wolverine’s bones are coated in.

With the struggle for Vibranium being put in the spotlight in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it would make sense that more countries would scramble for another valuable metal besides the one that’s only located in two places in the MCU. There is a rumor also going around that Tiamut Island will become the mutant haven of Genosha, but for now I guess it’s just interesting to see how the land mass will suddenly become a topic of interest for the MCU in general.

Personally, I don’t know how Ross would end up being president being the champion of the Sokovia Accords—which has now been confirmed to have been repealed, but maybe he stands on some kind of ‘Make the MCU Great Again’ platform, which I think would be an interesting angle to take the character.

Captain America: New World Order is set to come out May 3, 2024.
