Shazam
Release Date: April 5, 2019
Director: The reports suggesting WB had its eye on Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sandberg are true. Sandberg will helm the film.
Screenwriter(s): Henry Gayden
Cast: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s villain, Black Adam, will no longer appear in Shazam’s solo. The role of Billy Batson/Shazam has yet to receive a casting announcement.
Story: Details regarding the plot of Shazam are not public knowledge.
In the comics, Billy Batson is a child given the power of a God by The Wizard, Mamaragan. By shouting “Shazam!” he is able to turn into a grown man, equipped with superpowers. When casting information is finally revealed, it’s likely to include both a child actor and an adult.
Rumor and Speculation: Honestly, there’s hardly any at all, which isn’t surprising. Now that Black Adam no longer has a role, fan theories are essentially back at square one.
