First Announced/Speculated: March 2017

Screenwriter(s): Joss Whedon, it’s possibly someone else will pitch in as well.
Cast: No one is attached to play Babs. Ben Affleck’s Batman may or may not appear. Hopes are high that whoever is cast as Dick Grayson/Nightwing will show up in Batgirl’s solo.
Story: Reportedly, the studio is looking to adapt Barbara Gordon’s arc from Gail Simone’s New 52 run. Say WB does go this route, will we then be looking at a Babs post The Killing Joke, recently recovered from paralysis? Suffice it to say, that would be pretty cool. Additionally of intrigue is who the heroine will face in her standalone. Mirror? Perhaps the Court of Owls will get some love? Furthermore, might this be a backdoor introduction for the possibility of a Birds of Prey storyline? So many questions with no expectation that they’ll receive answers anytime soon.
Rumor and Speculation: Reports suggests this film could be the next to begin filming after production on Aquaman is complete. According to Geoff Johns, there may be some truth to this speculation. Apparently, Joss Whedon will begin work on the film, in some form, in 2018.
