In some new pictures from the set of Disney/Lucasfilm’s untitled Han Solo Star Wars spin-off film recently acquired by TMZ, fans finally get a look at Woody Harrelson’s character, Beckett.
Not much information has been released about Harrelson’s character in the film to this point. However, we do know that his character will serve as some sort of mentor to Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo. The photos appear to be of a meeting between Beckett, Han, Chewbacca and another group or person. Could the female they are meeting in the photos potentially be Emilia Clarke’s character?
It is difficult to determine where this set might be located in a galaxy far far away, but it looks as though it could be a lounge or meeting room of some type. Star Wars certainly has an affinity for spheres and circles. There are plenty of cases filled with unusual items on set (as seen in the photos and video from TMZ), so everything is still speculation at this point. The costume design for both Solo and Beckett feels familiar and fits right into the Star Wars universe.
These photos were reportedly taken before director Ron Howard took over the project, replacing directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller at the helm. With the recent change of director, and reshoots already planned after principle filming is complete, there is no telling how much of this will actually make it into the film’s final cut.
The Star Wars spin-off will take place sometime before the events of Episode IV and will be the second Star Wars film outside of the core Skywalker Saga following the success of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The untitled Han Solo film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, and Emilia Clarke. The movie hits theaters in May 2018.
