Fans rejoiced when it was reported that Rosario Dawson had been cast as the live-action Ahsoka for The Mandalorian Season 2, but the show has premiered and we still have no idea what she looks like in costume. While a lot of fanart has come out for Dawson in character, God of War art director Raf Grassetti’s take is on an entirely new level of realism.

The costume is actually based on Ahsoka’s look in Star Wars Rebels, and Grassetti has added a lot of realistic flair to the costume while keeping the main elements. He’s also made Ahsoka’s montrals (or horns) smaller, which is probably best for the live-action version. A lot of people are expecting Dawson to perform some elegant lightsaber action, and I’m sure a large headdress would look really clunky if they shot it in live-action.
By the time of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka would be in her middle-age, which is perfect for Dawson. We don’t know how or when she’ll appear on the show, but hopefully she has a significant part to play and won’t just be a small cameo that happens during the after-credits scene. Let’s also hope they manage to give us great live-action versions of Sabine, Ezra, and Captain Rex—all said to be making their live-action debut in Mando Season 2.
So far, the show has started out pretty strong, and fingers crossed it will just go up from here. Catch The Mandalorian 2 now on Disney+.
