Cal Takes on Battle Droids in Gameplay Footage for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor may not be coming out in March anymore, but Respawn Entertainment is still working to make sure fans are excited for the release of the game. Just in, we have some new gameplay footage which has Cal taking on Clone Wars-era battle droids

Check this out:

IGN’s official description reads:

Get an early look at one of the first new planets Cal Kestis will explore in the upcoming sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This video covers 9 minutes of gameplay that takes place after Cal crash lands on Koboh and must seek out help to repair his ship, The Mantis.

The level is said to take place very early in the game, so we can see that Cal is already wielding a lot of his upgrades from the first game, including a double-bladed lightsaber, as well as the ability to split the blade in two and dual-wield single blades.

So far, a lot of the gameplay mechanics seem to be the same, especially when it comes to Cal’s Force powers, and the way the Star Wars game tells you an enemy is about to attack. With Cal allegedly getting a blaster and a new saber configuration, we should expect some other gameplay elements that aren’t in the video.

I’m just relieved we’re actually getting some better cosmetics for Cal, because multi-colored ponchos was only funny the first time.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to release for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 on April 28.
