Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington is Joining the MCU

It hasn’t been long since Game of Thrones’ Richard Madden was hired for Marvel’s Eternals, and it looks like one of his GoT co-stars are joining him in the MCU – Jon Snow actor Kit Harington.

According to Deadline, Harington’s next film will have him joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It hasn’t been disclosed which movie he’s going to be a part of, but it’s exciting to guess where we might see him next. Could he be the villain for Doctor Strange 2? Is he going to play Beta Ray Bill for Thor: Love and Thunder? Or is he going to be a lead in a phase 5 movie? I don’t think he can be the new Wolverine, but he could make for a decent Cyclops.

Until we get an update, all we can really do is wait. Hopefully we get something solid during the Marvel panel at D23 which is taking place this weekend.

It’s not entirely new for Game of Thrones stars to make it into the MCU; we had Peter Dinklage in Avengers: Infinity War and Natalie Dormer in Captain America: The First Avenger. If it’s just Marvel movies, then we’ve had Dinklage again in Days of Future Past plus Sophie Turner in Age of Apocalypse and Maisie Williams in the never-to-be-released New Mutants.

You can even go further with the Disney connections what with Emilia Clarke and Gwendoline Christie in Star Wars.

We don’t know what role Harington is playing yet, but I’m crossing my fingers it’s going to be a memorable one. After his supposed “character assassination” in GoT, I’m waiting for Harington to get the character arc he deserves.
