Street Fighter from 1994 is pure cinephile camp gold, but after Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, there hasn’t been any big live-action Street Fighter to come out on the big screen—and not for lack of trying.
Now Legendary and Capcom have teamed up for another stab at a Street Fighter movie, and they’ve just revealed the logo. Check this out:

The movie is being directed by the duo RackaRacka (Danny and Michael Philippou) who are best known for their work with A24’s Talk to Me. Before that though, they were making silly Youtube videos, and one of them was in collaboration with Capcom featuring SF characters. Check this out:
Seeing as how Talk to Me was so stylistically made, we should expect the Street Fighter movie to be a bit more polished. What I am curious about is how they’re going to approach the story. Are they going to embrace the campy nature of a colourful fighting game or try to tell a serious story like the recent Mortal Kombat movie?
Personally, I loved the 1994 Street Fighter film for all its campiness, and some think that it was a fantastic final role for Raul Julia who played the villain M. Bison. It’s not clear if Street Fighter fans would love the camp approach, but as long as there are laughs and great action, I’m all up for a new Street Fighter.
No release date has been announced for the Street Fighter movie, but hopefully we get an update later this year. My guess it could release late 2025 or early 2026.
