Marvel Animation’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man just ended its first season, and the show has already been greenlit for two more.
We don’t know exactly what to expect with Season 2 of YFNS yet, but the show has just shared an official look at Gwen Stacy and her alter-ego Spider-Gwen. Check this out:

Since Gwen Stacy hasn’t been officially introduced in the MCU yet, a lot of fans are wondering exactly what her origin in YFNS is going to look like. Some speculate that the Spider that bit Peter in the beginning of the series was actually still alive, and that was the one that bit the Gwen of this universe.
A Multiverse-hopping Gwen Stacy is also considered as a possibility, but that’s already been done with Into the Spider-Verse, and there’s really nothing in this universe that’s stopping Gwen from simply just existing and getting spider powers herself.
For most of the first season of YFNS, Peter Parker’s love interest is Pearl Pangan, who herself is the Marvel hero Wave. We don’t know if the show is going to tug on that thread some more in future seasons, but with YFNS also looking to be a coming-of-age story, it wouldn’t be surprising that Peter will have multiple love interests in the following season. I wouldn’t even mind if MJ doesn’t show up—but I feel like she definitely should at some point—if this timeline is going to be that close to the MCU one.
