Lupita Nyong’o and Pedro Pascal Star in Final Trailer for The Wild Robot

DreamWorks may have went under as a studio, but the animation side still manages to make some great films. While a lot of fans wait on the update for Shrek 5, DreamWorks Animation is going to be delivering their adaptation of Peter Brown’s The Wild Robot.

The movie comes out later this month, and they’ve released a final trailer for The Wild Robot which gives fans a good idea of what to expect from the story. Check this out:

The official synopsis for the movie reads:

The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot—ROZZUM unit 7134, “Roz” for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

Besides Lupita Nyong’o and Pedro Pascal, the movie has managed to nab some more star-studded voice talents with the likes of Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows), Catherine O’Hara (Beetlejuice), and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

So far, early reviews for the movie have been sparkling, and seeing that the latest DreamWorks entries have always been considered solid, a lot of pressure is on The Wild Robot to deliver at the box office. Who knows, maybe this could turn out to be this generation’s version of The Iron Giant? With Disney and Illumination dominating on the animated movie department, DreamWorks is surprisingly still in the game.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens when the movie drops.

The Wild Robot comes to theaters on Sept. 27.
