Adam Driver had already played the heir of a famous Italian company with House of Gucci, and now he’s dropping he high fashion for high speed in the upcoming movie Ferrari. Neon has just dropped the first teaser, and it showcases Driver as Enzo Ferrari, the ex-racer turned entrepreneur.
Watch this:
The official description for the film reads:
It is the summer of 1957. Behind the spectacle of Formula 1, ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in crisis. Bankruptcy threatens the factory he and his wife, Laura built from nothing ten years earlier. Their volatile marriage has been battered by the loss of their son, Dino a year earlier. Ferrari struggles to acknowledge his son Piero with Lina Lardi. Meanwhile, his drivers’ passion to win pushes them to the edge as they launch into the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the Mille Miglia.
Besides Driver as the main star of the film, the movie has also managed to cast others like Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley, and Patrick Dempsey. The movie is also being directed by Michael Mann who was also at the helm for films like Public Enemies and Heat.
Seeing that this is also a Neon film, we should expect Ferrari to be more on the artsy side of things when it comes to the storytelling; which is pretty different from what we got with House of Gucci which was closer to a traditional biopic. Until we see more, I guess all fans can really do is wait.
Ferrari is set to hit theaters on Dec. 25.
