Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni Allegedly Working on Another Mandalorian Spinoff

Star Wars may be taking a break from cinemas, but it has been doing a lot of work on the TV end, with the release of series like The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor. With Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni being praised on their work for The Mandalorian, word has it that the duo are ready to do one more spinoff of the property.

According to insider Daniel Richtman (via The Direct) Filoni and Favreau are working on a Mando spinoff currently codenamed Ghost Track 17. We don’t know what the series could be about, but maybe it could have something to do with Force Ghosts; or some kind of horror spinoff.

Technically, The Mandalorian itself is a spinoff series, but I think the word spinoff here means we could be following characters that we’ve already met on The Mandalorian getting their own show. Originally, Gina Carano’s Cara Dune was said to have been primed for her own series with Rangers of the New Republic, but after some problematic social media behaviour, it seems that Disney had decided to scrap that project.

If anything, there’s wealth of characters from Mando to choose from, so Filoni and Favreau could go about several different ways. Personally I just want to see Filoni focus on his Ahsoka series, but if they have a good idea worth pursuing, I’m hoping it’s just as good as Andor which totally blew everyone out of the water.

In the meantime, catch The Mandalorian now streaming on Disney+.
