It seems like Feb. 4 is a bittersweet day for Marvel fans. While a lot were happy that the first teaser for Fantastic Four: First Steps has finally dropped, a lot a more disappointed for what seems to be posters for the film generated by AI.

According to The Wrap, a Marvel rep has confirmed that AI wasn’t used in the making of the posters, but to some fans, the images speak for themselves.
Admittedly AI has become such a hot-button issue when it comes to movies and entertainment. Besides the fact that some people consider it stealing; some artists consider AI to be used by companies to save money instead of using an actual artist to come up with their assets.
The Brutalist was considered to be an achievement before it was revealed that AI was used to alter the actors’ voices to be able to sound more authentic Hungarian. Late Night with the Devil would have been a charming low budget horror movie until fans pointed out that there was AI used in some images.
I’ll admit, some people can get a bit extreme when it comes condemning the use of AI, but with blatant errors like this from a multi-billion-dollar company like Marvel, fans and other creatives are sure to have a volatile reaction.
Catch Fantastic Four: First Steps when it comes to theaters on July 25.
