The first X movie starring Mia Goth came out back in 2022, and two years later, they’re now looking to end the trilogy with MaXXXine. The symbol “X” has always been prominent in all the marketing, and a new poster has fans loving the iconography.

If it took you a while to get it, the straps on Maxine’s dress also form an “X”. What’s more, she can also be seen wearing a pearl necklace—alluding to the second film in the franchise, Pearl.

Though the film series did start out with some more obscure actors including Jenna Ortega, Scott Mescudi (Kid Cudi), and Brittany Snow, MaXXXine has upped the star power by 3-fold with actors like Giancarlo Esposito, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Kevin Bacon, and Lily Collins.
I guess it’s also worth noting that Pearl also have us the incoming Superman with David Corenswet.
We don’t know how director Ti West plans to end this franchise, but Pearl/Maxine wanting to become a star has always been a connecting theme between all of the films. It’s possible that the third movie is going to have us watch Maxine do more and more heinous things as she attempts to rise to the top; taking out anyone that stands in her way.
I already have a feeling we’re going to see a very violent Elizabeth Debicki death. I would personally love a Jenna Ortega cameo.
