It was no mystery that Kat had a diminished role when it came to the second season of Euphoria, and while fans though the third season could remedy that, it seems that we won’t be seeing anymore of the show’s resident online dominatrix.
As announced by Barbie Ferreria on her IG stories, she won’t be coming back to the show’s third season. Here’s her post:

“After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye. I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez.”
She didn’t write down any specific reason as to why she left the show, but some are almost sure that it has something to do with series creator Sam Levinson. Back in February, it was said that Ferreria and Levinson had clashed on set, resulting in Kat’s reduced screentime in the second season. It was said that Levinson would often come to set with no shotlist, and extras and the actors would all have to stay for longer hours as he figured out which shots he wanted to do with the camera.
We don’t know how much of these rumors are true, but you can’t deny that Euphoria has been pretty creative when it comes to its feel and cinematography. It’s probably not worth the exhaustion of everyone else on set though.
For now, no release date has been announced for Euphoria 3, but you can catch the first two seasons now available on HBO Max.
