Po’s Old Enemies Return in Trailer for Kung Fu Panda 4

Kung Fu Panda 4 has been announced for a release next March, and DreamWorks has dropped a new trailer which showcases Po moving on from his Dragon Warrior role to be the village’s next Spiritual Leader.

Watch this:

Po is gearing up to become the spiritual leader of his Valley of Peace, but also needs someone to take his place as Dragon Warrior. As such, he will train a new kung fu practitioner for the spot and will encounter a villain called the Chameleon who conjures villains from the past.

Besides Jack Black coming back to reprise the role of Po, the film has also brought back other Kung Fu Panda veterans including Dustin Hoffman and James Hong; not to mention Ian McShane is also reprising the role of Tai Lung.

New Kung Fu Panda 4 characters include Chameleon who is voiced by Viola Davis and Zhen the fox who is voiced by Awkwafina.

Oddly enough, there is no mention of the Furious Five in the trailer, but Jackie Chan is listed in the cast as Monkey. We have no idea about Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Crane (David Cross), Mantis (Seth Rogen), and Viper (Lucy Liu) yet.

With the tease of Chameleon also being able to bring back past villains, we should expect some kind of appearance from the likes of Kai (J.K. Simmons) and Lord Shen (Gary Oldman) as well. I wouldn’t also mind if they brought in some unseen villains, like the ones who wielded the ancient weapons Po was geeking out about way back in the first movie.

Kung Fu Panda 4 is set to release in theaters on March 8.
