Dune: Part Two Gives Closer Look at Princess Irulan and Feyd-Rautha

Denis Villeneve’s first Dune movie had already gotten delayed thanks to the pandemic, and the sequel, Dune: Part Two was delayed because of the SAG-AFTRA Strike.

Now the second part of what Villeneuve is considering to be a trilogy is going to release in a month, and everyone is excited to meet the new characters. Just in, we have some interesting character spots for Princess Irulan (Florence Pugh) and Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen (Austin Butler).

Check these out:

In the book, Princess Irulan is actually the one narrating the events as she chronicles the rise of Paul Atreides. Though we didn’t see her in the first film, we should expect her to do some sci-fi journalism to see just who Paul is before he goes after the emperor (Christopher Walken) himself.

Here’s the spot for Butler’s Feyd-Rautha:

Originally played by Sting in the David Lynch movie, Feyd is considered to be the Harkonnen golden boy who has his fateful duel with Paul for the fate of Arrakis. Though Feyd’s fate is kind of obvious at this point, you have to commend Butler completely disappearing into the role. It’s hard to imagine he was flirting with 60s teenagers just a few years ago in Elvis.

Though the second movie is expected to complete the first book, Villeneuve and everyone else is hoping they will get to finish a trilogy with an adaptation of Dune: Messiah. We don’t know if WB will be up for it, but fingers crossed they get the greenlight soon.

Watch out for Dune: Part Two when it finally hits theaters on March 1.
