Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Special: Neil Patrick Harris Shines as a Cosmic Villain in New Trailer

David Tennant was a fan favorite Doctor in Doctor Who, and though his run has ended, he’s found several ways to come back as his character. The next anniversary special of Doctor Who is actually bringing Tennant back alongside with old companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate). The three-part special is set to premiere on the BBC this November, and we have a new trailer featuring a new villain played by Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother).

Watch this:

Tennant’s Doctor had cycled through a bunch of companions during his run, but the exit of Donna is a particularly sad one since she was forced to forget everything she knew about the Doctor and their adventures. Now it looks like everything is going to come back to her, but now the Doctor will have to find a new way to save her; but this time he may not be able to.

Just like fans have their own favorite Doctors, there are also favorite companions, and it’s going to be interesting how they’re going to re-open the book for Donna, who is a lot older than the traditional companion.

What I am interested in is seeing how they’re going to introduce Ncuti Gatwa as the next Doctor. Though I would have loved to see Doctor Thirteen Jodie Whittaker pass the torch, I guess the return of Tennant did suddenly have a lot of people curious about the show again.

The 60th Anniversary Special of Doctor Who premieres on the BBC later this November.
