While we didn’t have specific release dates for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and WandaVision, we did know that TFATWS would be coming out in August with WV coming out in the winter season. While the fate of the shows were up in the air thanks to COVID-19, it looks like Disney is officially changing the slate this time.
The Decider has released the full slate of Disney+ releases in August, and it’s been revealed that The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has been pulled out. THR confirms that TFATWS has been delayed, as well as other shows that have been planned including WandaVision and Loki.
While no new release window has been announced, it’s possible that the TV series could just go the way of the films and release in the next series intended release date; this means TFATWS could come out this winter instead of WandaVision, and WV can take Loki’s release window which was supposed to be in the Spring of 2021.
Though productions have been effectively delayed, they are starting to get back up again slowly. Let’s just hope that studios are trying their best to keep all of the cast and crew safe amidst the pandemic. At least streaming services can still have their releases as compared to the box office which is still too dangerous to open.
For now, the situation has become different all over the world. While countries like New Zealand have effectively squashed the virus, other countries from the US to the Philippines are having a terrible go at it. We don’t know when this situation gets better, but fingers crossed we’ve been past the worst.
No release date has been set for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
