While the movie was originally set to come out in theaters, the pandemic has forced Disney to move Pixar’s Soul into streaming services. Now with a Christmas release date, Disney has decided to make the announcement with a new trailer.

Check it out:

Admittedly, we don’t really see anything new when it comes to the concept of the movie, but we do get a showcase of the great animation in Soul. While the world of the ‘Before’ is animated and cartoon-y, world of ‘life’ looks so vibrant and real.

So far, the reviews of the film have been great, and a lot of people are saying that Pixar is ‘coming to form’ with the film. If anything, their latest movies have been a tad lackluster with Onward. I guess it’s because people are starting to see a formula when it comes to these movies. Hopefully this new Disney movie Soul is going to be more unique when it comes to the execution of the story.

“Soul” introduces Joe Gardner (voice of Jamie Foxx) – a middle-school band teacher who gets the chance of a lifetime to play at the best jazz club in town. But one small misstep takes him from the streets of New York City to The Great Before – a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth. Determined to return to his life, Joe teams up with a precocious soul, 22 (voice of Tina Fey), who has never understood the appeal of the human experience. As Joe desperately tries to show 22 what’s great about living, he may just discover the answers to some of life’s most important questions.

Disney Pixar’s Soul comes to Disney+ on Dec. 25.
