Dead by Daylight has managed to crossover with several iconic horror properties from Stranger Things to Scream, but the game is set to come to a sci-fi monolith with their latest deal.
Here’s the announcement for Dead by Daylight’s crossover with Ridley Scott’s Alien:
The suffocating silence of outer space pushes resolve beyond its limits.
The teaser doesn’t really show much, but it’s possible we’re getting a new map in the form of the Nostromo a.k.a. the space freighter that served as the setting for the original Alien. As for the Xenomorph, we only get a small tease, but more details will probably be showcased in the reveal announced for August 8.
While we have possible confirmation on a new map and a new killer, fans will probably want to know if there will be any new survivors coming from the Alien franchise. No doubt fans will want a playable Ellen Ripley, but I wouldn’t mind any of the protagonists from future films like Prometheus or Alien: Covenant. I wouldn’t even mind a playable David that only kind of looked like Michael Fassbender.
As for the Xenomorph, it’s possible that a lot of its gameplay is going to be stealth based, but it would be great if they could somehow incorporate its facehugger form into gameplay as well like they’ve done in previous Alien games.
No release date has been announced for the Alien expansion, but we should get more details next week. Dead by Daylight is now playable for PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile.
