The DCEU may have halted temporarily after the fiasco that was Justice League, but now things look to be getting back into gear as more movies are getting the greenlight again. Just in, the all-woman team-up Birds of Prey finally has a release date.

As per The Wrap, Birds of Prey is now looking at a release set on Feb. 7, 2020; that’s a release just a week ahead of Bond 25 which is set to come out on Valentine’s Day. The Birds boast an all-woman lineup which will include the likes of Black Canary, The Huntress, Detective Renee Montoya, Cassandra Cain, and Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie). It’s also been confirmed that the movie has no Batgirl, but an appearance from Barbara Gordon has not been ruled out.

As it stands, Wonder Woman is the only DCEU film that has been universally praised, and it looks like WB is trying to put more focus on its female heroes moving forward. Of course, we still have our traditional male hero films like Aquaman and Shazam!, but now projects like Supergirl and Batgirl are in active development.

Hopefully new DC head Walter Hamada has a clear picture on where he wants to steer the DCEU ship. After numerous tumbles like Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, DC really had to pump the brakes and find out what exactly they were doing wrong with the franchise.

Birds of Prey starts production this January and is set for a release on Feb. 7, 2020.
