Marvel Studios may be dominating the screens now, but DC is looking to turn the tides with their reveals at DC FanDome 2021. The virtual event is set to take place in the middle of the month, and we have a new teaser confirming all the big drops—including a new trailer for Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
Watch this:
With The Batman set to come out in March of next year, you would think that we would get a trailer much later in 2021. With DC building up FanDome to be their biggest event of the year though, it would make sense that the studio would like to draw people in with a reveal for one of their most-anticipated films.
Besides The Batman, we also have teases for other upcoming DC properties like Black Adam and The Flash. On the TV end, we have appearances from cast members of Doom Patrol, The CW’s Flash, Titans, and Supergirl. Let’s not also forget the Suicide Squad spinoff centered on John Cena’s Peacemaker.
At the height of pandemix, DC FanDome was actually one of the fan events that was able to get their reveals right. After almost a year of ruminating—and other franchises adapting the virtual event model—I’m excited to see what’s in store for FanDome this year. Maybe we can even get reveals for things that we don’t get glimpses of in the trailer; like David Ayer’s Suicide Squad—if that’s ever going to happen.
DC FanDome takes place on Oct. 16. To register for the event, you can click here.
