Though Godzilla: King of Monsters wasn’t really critically praised, Millie Bobby Brown continues to be Netflix’s golden child with her work on Stranger Things and the recent Enola Holmes. Now Brown is set to star in another Netflix feature, and this time it will be going medieval.
As per Collider, Brown is set to star in a film called Damsel directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later). No official synopsis has been released for the film, but sources are claiming that the plot is as follows:
… The story follows a young princess who is married off to a rival kingdom and immediately finds herself in danger when it’s revealed that her new home has a nasty little secret — during the harvest season, the kingdom sacrifices their princesses to a hungry dragon.
Seeing that Brown has been the ‘strong female lead’ in kid-friendly properties, you could say that it would be the same for Damsel, but seeing that the director Fresnadillo is best known for his work on horror, Damsel could be a lot closer to Midsommar than Snow White and the Huntsman.
Then again, that’s just my guess. The way the plot is described could work either way for a serious horror movie or a kid-friendly action adventure. I just think that after Stranger Things and Enola Holmes, brown would want to try something more out of her comfort zone.
No release date has been set for Netflix’s Damsel, but you can watch Brown in either Stranger Things or Enola Holmes.
