Dafne Keen has been pretty busy ever since she appeared in Logan, starring in HBO’s His Dark Materials. With the series now gearing up for the release of its final season, Keen is said to have found more work in the Star Wars universe.
Talking during The Hot Mic (via Bespin Bulletin), insider Jeff Sneider had said that Keen had joined the cast of upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte from Leslye Headland. He says, “I hear a little casting nugget, this’ll be for The Acolyte. The series, The Acolyte. Dafne Keen, who played X-23 in Logan, is going to be joining The Acolyte. I don’t have any official confirmation on that yet, but I expect that’ll be in a couple of weeks maybe.”
We should take the news with a grain of salt, but Sneider has delivered reliable scoops before. That being said, Keen does seem like a good choice for the series, and with her status as the lead of another currently running sci-fi series, her appearance in The Acolyte could be a major draw for the show.
We don’t know much about The Acolyte series yet, but we do know that it will be taking place hundreds of years before the events of the Prequel Trilogy—in the newly conceived High Republic era. Besides Keen, the series is set to have Amandla Stenberg as the lead, with other actors Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, and Jodie Turner Smith rounding up the cast.
Hopefully we get some official confirmation soon. In the meantime, catch Keen in His Dark Materials which is currently streaming on HBO Max.
