It seemed that Marvel was going to push forward with their plans despite the scare that the Coronavirus is bringing up, but now it looks like they’ve finally caved when it comes to one of their ongoing productions.
According to Deadline, Disney has shut down production of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in Prague duee to concerns about the Coronavirus Outbreak. While production had been mainly going on in Atlanta, the crew had moved to Prague for a bit of location shooting. Now Disney has called everyone back, and it doesn’t seem likely that they’ll be returning to the location.
If anything, this is the second time that production has been halted for TFATWS. Back in January, the show was set to shoot in Puerto Rico, but plans were cancelled after the earthquake that hit the southern coast.
Nevertheless, I’m sure that Marvel will come up with some compromises now that they have limited locations to shoot. Who knows, maybe the crew will be able to work on those giant LED location screens that were used for The Mandalorian? If that show was able to go everywhere without really going anywhere, then I think now would be the best time to utilize it, especially with the world on alert about the rapidly spreading virus.
For now, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, is set to hit Disney+ in August.
